According to spokeswoman Alison Southwick there has been a surge in scams that involve making money from home claiming large paychecks and little risk that attract people that are vulnerable and looking for jobs. Along with credit counseling scams this appears to be among the worst. The most recent of these claims they will pay Twitter users after signing up for a free training kit and the work will involve large companies. What the Better Business Bureau says happens is that there are large monthly fees from the person signing up for this kit. One of these companies claims that after signing up it is possible to make over $800 in one day working on Twitter, along with another company that claimed that one of their employees made $390,746 in one year working for them. People with bad credit appear to be most vulnerable to this type of scam. They should seek free or non profit credit counseling to help with debt consolidation and other issues. Credit counseling is key for many people. In the terms and conditions of these companies according to the Better Business Bureau will be a monthly fee found, that usually will go into effect after a 7 day free trial, then the home business person will be charged a monthly fee that can be as low as $47 a month or $99 a month and higher.
I have been involved, in one way or another, on the world wide web since basically it’s origins into the mainstream around 1993 or so , when the first real browser came out that allowed you to navigate the web in the way it is navigated currently,
with all of the images and so forth. I launched my first website some two years later, and let me tell you I have seen so many changes since that time. After all, at that point in time the larger search engines on the ‘Information Superhighway’ as it was mostly called at that time were excite, Hotbot and Whatuseek, Scrubtheweb and one that no longer exists called ‘WWW Worm’. Yahoo was a just a directory and email/news site and did not evens earh the web yet (although you could search it’s rather limited directory of hand-selected sites). At that particular point in time, your meta tags were generally enouph to get your website to the top because there were so few websites out there. Boy have things changed since then! Broadly speaking,
there were a lot of large portal type sites which no longer exist today. Many went down went the ‘dot com bubble’ went bust around ten years ago. They had been funded by rampant speculation, because back then if you had a dot com domain and any reasonable idea you could get funding, someimes lots of it. I mean, you could get millions of dollars to develop a site, and a lot of those sites never made a penny. For every Amazon.com there were hundreds of sites that went completely belly-up.
As a result, we are now looking at a completely different world wide web than even ten years ago. Of course, a some sites like yahoo have remained a constant staple, but so many sites which were hyped up to the moon are long gone. One factor in the ‘rebirth’ of the web was the imporvement of encryption methods and secure servers. In the 90’s the perception was that it was fairly risky touse your credit card in an internet commercial transaction. With imptoved encryption and security, it is now almost second nature to most folks. In truth, even back then, many of the risks associated
with an online transaction were not much different than using your credit card in more “normal” situations. of course, maybe it was kind of a good thing that people did not use their plastic so much. Right now it seems that a lot of people just need some good credit counseling if anything. I mean good Debt consolidation, Debt Management and general credit counseling are key factors in the world right now. Like I said, it was mainly the perception. But that perception was actually one of the reasons many internet start up companies failed. Many of them had a great idea and sound technology.
The web firm NebuAd has shut their office down folloing fierce opposition over their methods of gathering Internet user’s information. The company, with their office located in Redwood City, California, was in business as a targeting advertising system that was to track Internet use for ad that could be made appealing to the interest of Internet surfers.
In the past the corporation had in excess of thirty world wide web providers using their service, bur these same users later filed a legal lawsuit for over five million dollars. As an aside if you happen to spend a great deal of time on your computer and you decide to obtain a new set of office chairs it is suggested that you take into account the ergonomic aspects of the chairs. This is particularly true if you send a lot of time on the computer. In general, ergonomics are a truly prime part of office chairs, and there has been a great deal of research into this area recently.
Phorm Inc. Ergonomics are indeed a vital area of a healthy workplace in general, and office chairs in particular.
This factor is too often overlooked due to budget considerations. Now back to the conclusion of the article; A UK owned firm is having similar problems with world wide web users worried over their privacy. The company has deals with the three largest Internet providers that account for about seventy percent of the British broadband market. The Foundation for Information Policy Research in Cambridge, United Kingdom spokesperson Richard Clayton stated that the prospective partners of the company’s services are irritated with some of the firm’s practices.
